Employee handbooks are meant to provide clarity and protection, yet poorly written or outdated policies often do the opposite. This session examines common employee manual snafus such as conflicting policies, overly rigid language, state law noncompliance, accidental promises, and copy and paste policies that do not match actual practice. Attendees will learn how handbook errors can increase liability, undermine manager authority, and create employee relations issues. The session focuses on identifying high risk policy areas and offers practical strategies for creating clear, compliant, and flexible handbooks that support both operations and culture.
