One hour long lecture reviewing the different types of fluids commonly available in the veterinary setting. We will discuss different scenarios in which you would use the different types of fluids available.
Objectives:
1. Attendees will review crystalloids vs. Colloids and their primary uses and functions.
2. Attendees will gain an understanding of isotonic, hyper and hypotonic fluids, their indications and contraindications.
3. Attendees will gain an understanding of fluid balance and fluid shifts, as well as fluid resuscitation requirements.
